Great to meet you!

Are you keeping up with daily responsibilities but feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or emotionally drained? Perhaps you’re struggling with focus, sleep, or simply not feeling like yourself. You deserve a place where you can speak openly and receive care tailored to you.

I’m Kouhede Sossou, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 10 years of experience in healthcare. I earned my Master of Science in Nursing from Purdue Global University. My nursing background includes behavioral health, correctional healthcare, trauma, and acute care, where I learned the importance of understanding the person beyond their symptoms.

I provide psychiatric evaluations and medication management for adults experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma-related concerns, mood disorders, and sleep difficulties. Originally from Togo and fluent in English and French, I welcome clients from diverse backgrounds and respect the role of culture, family, and personal experiences in mental health.

Whether this is your first time seeking care or you’re looking for a fresh approach, I’m here to listen and help you explore your next steps.

My approach to therapy

I listen before making recommendations. I want to understand what’s been difficult, what has helped before, and what you hope will change—whether that means sleeping better, feeling less overwhelmed, or being more present in daily life.

My approach is holistic and collaborative. We’ll consider your emotional and physical health, daily routines, and life circumstances alongside your symptoms. Together, we’ll develop a plan that may include medication, education, and practical coping strategies.

I’ll explain treatment options clearly, including potential benefits, risks, and alternatives. Your questions and preferences matter. We’ll check in on your progress and adjust your care based on what’s helping and what still needs attention.

What you can expect from me

You don’t need to prepare a perfect explanation of how you feel. Come as you are. We’ll start with what brought you in and what you’d like help with, allowing space for your questions and concerns.

We’ll review your symptoms, health history, medications, past treatment experiences, and goals. Then we’ll discuss my initial assessment, explore appropriate treatment options, and agree on next steps.

My goal is for you to leave feeling heard and better informed, with a clear plan for moving forward. If this approach feels right for you, I welcome you to book a first appointment.
