Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m KP Hartman (they/them)—a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC), and EMDR-trained therapist. I specialize in helping individuals navigate trauma, chronic stress, and addiction through a whole-person, somatic lens.

I earned my Master’s degree in International Disaster Psychology: Trauma & Global Mental Health from the University of Denver. My clinical history includes extensive work in high-acuity crisis intervention, managing complex situations involving suicidality, homicidality, and psychosis. While my current outpatient practice is focused on scheduled, ongoing therapeutic work rather than emergency crisis services, this deep background equips me to bring a calm, steady, and unshakeable presence to our sessions.

My approach to therapy

My approach bridges the gap between mental health and physical well-being. By integrating somatic therapy and movement into our work, I offer a space where you can actively reclaim your physical self. Whether you are recovering from complex trauma or looking to optimize your performance in high-pressure environments, my focus is on helping you tune in and finally listen to what your body has been trying to tell you.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is a low-pressure, welcoming space where we can begin getting to know each other without any expectation for you to trust me right out of the gate. Real trust is earned over time, so we will move strictly at a pace your nervous system feels comfortable with. Together, we’ll gently explore what brought you to therapy, what you hope to get out of our work, and what healing actually looks like for you. You hold the reins on how much you share, ensuring our very first step together feels grounded, collaborative, and entirely on your terms.
