Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Dr. Krista Caldwell. I’m a psychologist who works with kids, teens, and adults who are feeling stuck—whether that’s in patterns of perfectionism, a difficult relationship with food or their body, chronic worry, low mood, or navigating a major life transition. Many of the people I work with are managing anxiety, depression, eating disorders, or trauma, and are looking for a space where they can feel understood and supported while working toward meaningful change.

My approach to therapy is relational, flexible, and evidence-based. I believe healing happens in connection—with ourselves and with others—and I tailor therapy to each person’s developmental stage, goals, and lived experience. I draw from a variety of research-supported therapies, including Family-Based Treatment (FBT), Enhanced Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT-E), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Relational Cultural Therapy. With children and adolescents, I often work closely with caregivers as part of the process.

I also support clients during periods of identity exploration or transition—like starting college, stepping into a new caregiving role, or reevaluating priorities mid-life. Whether in individual therapy, caregiver consultation, or family work, I aim to provide a space that feels safe, respectful, and grounded in curiosity and compassion.

I earned my PhD in Clinical Psychology from Texas A&M University and have worked in hospital, university, and outpatient settings. I am a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS) and a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor, and I continue to consult and collaborate with other providers to support high-quality, inclusive care across systems.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I believe therapy works best when it feels like a safe, supportive space where you don’t have to pretend or hold it all together. My approach is warm, collaborative, and tailored to each person or family I work with. I’ll take time to get to know what matters most to you, what’s feeling hard right now, and how we can work together to help you feel more connected, confident, and grounded.

Sometimes that means building new skills or ways of coping. Other times, it means understanding patterns that keep showing up or making space to process emotions that feel overwhelming or confusing. I also work closely with caregivers when I’m supporting children or teens, and I see relationships as an important part of healing and growth.

Therapy with me isn’t one-size-fits-all. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, body image, big transitions, or just feeling stuck, we’ll work at your pace, with curiosity, compassion, and respect for your experiences.

What you can expect from our first session

Clients often leave sessions feeling more grounded, understood, and equipped with practical tools to navigate challenges. Over time, they gain insight into unhelpful patterns, develop greater self-compassion, and feel more confident making choices that align with their values. Whether we’re working through a specific concern or exploring bigger life questions, my goal is to help clients feel supported and capable of moving forward with clarity and care.
