Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Krista! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Board Certified as a Nationally Certified Counselor.

I have worked diligently for almost a decade helping individuals from all different walks of life, ages, genders, disorders, presenting problems, diversities, sexual orientations, cultures, religions and lifestyles. Working with various populations has allowed me to develop comprehensive knowledge of the human brain and development. I offer a deep level of understanding, empathy, connection and passion.

Specific areas and settings I've worked in are (but not limited to) one-on-one behavioral therapy in school settings, inpatient hospitalization, outpatient individual psychotherapy and psychiatric practices, intensive outpatient group therapy programs and more. I specialize in working with females (teens & adults), LGBTQ+, anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, panic disorders, bipolar disorder, self-esteem issues, life transitions, motherhood, spirituality, emotional disturbance, PTSD, trauma and abuse survivors.

Throughout the years I have acquired comprehensive knowledge of the clinical mental health field. Developing an extensive clinical background, deepening my understanding of mental health and working closely with over 100 people has paved the way for endless amounts of empathy, deep understanding, connection and passionate care in sessions with my clients.

My approach to therapy

I use a very laid back, friendly and soft approach in sessions. I offer a nurturing space where you feel comfortable talking and sharing your life experiences with me.I have been told in sessions and everyday life that I have "a comforting energy". I often find that women gravitate towards me and effectively communicate feelings with ease.

I often use a blend of CBT, Compassion Focused and Person Centered approaches. During treatment, you will feel validated in your experiences while learning the root causes of presenting problems within your life. With my guidance and compassion, you will be able to confidently adjust your reality and transform the world around you.

My approach to counseling allows those who experience(d) anxiety, trauma, neurodivergence and depression open up with assured support and vulnerability. My clients see a boost in their mood, reduction in anxiety, improved coping mechanisms and increased overall wellbeing.

What you can expect from me

I provide a non-judgemental and non-intimidating to therapy. During our chats, my ultimate goal to make you feel safe, grounded, supported and seen. I am here to help guide you to move at your own pace, focus on the goals you set, work through life's challenges with confidence, be more present in your life and develop healthier lifestyle habits to build off of.

The meaningful connection we build will prove to be the ultimate foundation to allow you openly communicate your experiences and emotions while helping you grow into the person you deserve to be. We will share many things with one another, including some laughs and potentially some cries. I am confident you will be proud of the decision you made to willingly start your healing journey with me!
