Great to meet you!

Hi! I'm Kristen and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania. I have over a decade of experience working in the mental health field, starting in 2010 where I obtained my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from The Pennsylvania State University; I then went on to pursue a Master’s Degree in Counselor Education at Duquesne University in 2013. Since that time, I have worked at different levels of care and acuity within the mental health field. My clinical experience in these roles offering individual, family, couples, and group therapy allows me to bring that breadth of knowledge to my current and future teletherapy clients.

My approach to therapy

While I have expertise working with clients dealing with relationship dynamics, LGBTQIA+ specific concerns, grief and loss, and women’s issues, I am a Certified Life Transitions therapist. In other words, I provide therapeutic support across a variety of presenting concerns instead of focusing on one highly specialized issue or population. This approach allows me to offer therapy and continue supporting my clients with the many challenges they encounter throughout the different stages of life.

What you can expect from me

The first session differs than a typical therapy session in that we take the time to delve into your pressing mental health concerns, as well as some general background. This helps us to create treatment goals and a plan of what to work on in future sessions. Additionally, the first session is where we establish the therapeutic relationship, which is one of the most important factors of successful mental health treatment.
