Great to meet you!

Feel stuck? I can help! I seek to help my clients develop skills, discover new strengths, and gain insight to navigate our sometimes chaotic world. I especially like to work with people experiencing anxiety and related disorders. I spent 30 years in the public school setting, 18 as a certified school counselor at ALL levels (but mostly JHS and HS), where I served diverse populations and needs. Because I've seen a lot, I've got a lot of tools in my toolbox to teach you ways to move forward!

My approach to therapy

MY COUNSELING PHILOSOPHY...

It can best be described as relationship-based and eclectic. I adapt modalities to each client depending on your needs. I believe in the importance of the whole person (body, mind, and spirit), and I use various techniques to maximize the strengths, resources, and resilience that you already possess. I desire to be a facilitator of greater self-awareness leading to increased confidence, self-esteem, independence, mental health, and coping skills.

What you can expect from me

I’m a lifelong educator and teacher. I received my undergraduate degree in education at Texas A&M University, and my master’s degree in counseling from Sam Houston State University. Parenting skills and college & career counseling are two unique strengths I bring to my practice. If those things stress you out, I am an excellent resource. I’ve always worked hard to learn new things, and I look forward to helping you do the same and find new perspectives as well!
