Dr. Kristen Grove

I am a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 8 years of experience providing comprehensive mental health care across the lifespan. My clinical foundation was built at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where I pursued advanced training while working in the Emergency Department at UNC Hospital, including the behavioral health emergency unit. During this time, I also became certified as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner, deepening my commitment to trauma-informed care.

I completed my Doctorate in Nursing Practice at East Carolina University and bring a strong academic and clinical background to my work with individuals aged 5 to 105. I have a particular passion for the assessment and treatment of older adults experiencing cognitive decline and dementia, and I maintain a broad scope of practice treating PTSD, depression, anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, and ADHD. My approach is rooted in empathy, evidence-based care, and a commitment to improving quality of life for every patient I serve.

I take a holistic, non-judgmental approach to treatment, considering the individual's overall well-being and potential. I am compassionate, but I will ask the difficult questions and believe that being direct will help me better understand your treatment goals.

Clients are an integral part of their treatment plan and play a crucial role in the success of their care plan. I will put in as much effort as it takes, and I hope you will do the same. I work with a warm, soft, and caring energy that will hopefully make you feel safe, not judged, and able to open up to me so we can create an appropriate, goal-directed care plan.
