Great to meet you!

My name is Kristen Johnson, LPC LAC, and I am an experienced mental health therapist with a Master's degree in Couples and Family Therapy from the University of Oregon. I offer individual and family support for adults and teens, using therapeutic interventions such as DBT and EMDR. Over the past 13 years, I have developed my skills while working in residential treatment, community mental health, high schools, and medical clinics.

My approach to therapy

At the core, I believe in a client-centered approach to meet you where you are at. I hold the belief that we are all doing our best in this moment, and will help you identify shifts that will honor your desired change and your readiness to make that change. I have training in several therapeutic approaches to create change, such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and EMDR.

What you can expect from me

I deeply honor and respect where everyone is at on their unique journey of personal growth and self-discovery. I view my clients as the true experts on themselves; and I firmly believe that when we look at ourselves through a curious lens, we can gain a deeper understanding, support one another better, and ultimately grow into our best selves.
