Kris graduated from Jane Addams College of Social Work at UIC Chicago. Kris's extensive experience includes treating thousands of patients in Chicago area Emergency Departments as a Crisis Counselor as well as helping hundreds of people in her other role as a therapist. Kris understands the challenges and dangers faced in Crisis situations having seen and experienced first hand the impact responding to emergencies has on the mental wellbeing of emergency personnel.
I like to take a humanistic, client centered approach to therapy utilizing client strengths to create a collaborative, safe environment to process trauma and experiences while gaining an understanding of clients and their problems and developing solutions. This is accomplished by blending elements from different approaches and tailoring treatment according to each client's needs.
I allow clients a safe space to discuss their concerns, goals, and challenges with no biases and no judgments. I help clients to target, process and change patterns of thought and behavior that may be a hindrance to a healthy state of mind. As each client situation is unique and each individual is the expert on themselves treatment goals are decided on with the client.
