Great to meet you!

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (Washington), I have 25 years of experience in the field that includes: private practice, with children, families, young adults and women. I have a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision, advancing my knowledge of the field through research and training counselors. My clinical experience includes the following populations: premarital, marital, family, women's issues, children and adolescents. Research interests include forgiveness, family systems, wellness, and systemic supervision.

My approach to therapy

I take a collaborative, strengths-based approach to therapy, working alongside you to understand your goals and priorities. I pay close attention to family and environmental context — including family of origin and history when helpful — because those systems often shape current patterns. I believe you are the expert on your life, and my role is to listen, highlight your strengths, and offer tools that support the outcomes you want. Together we’ll build a treatment plan that honors your values and moves you toward meaningful change.

What you can expect from me

In our first session I prioritize listening and to build a clear, strengths-based foundation. We’ll begin by exploring your presenting concern — what brought you in and what you most want to address — then broaden the conversation to your story: relationships, family of origin, key life themes, and environmental context. Together we’ll identify initial discussion points that can help shape meaningful goals and objectives. To deepen understanding, I may introduce tools such as a genogram, life timeline, or other brief assessments if they seem helpful. I’ll center your expertise, highlight strengths, and co-create a treatment plan that honors your values.
