Great to meet you!

Welcome, I am so glad you are here! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a passion for supporting people through life’s most challenging and transformative moments. I have the privilege of walking alongside clients from diverse backgrounds as they navigate life’s challenges. My practice is dedicated to fostering client growth, emotional resilience, and mental wellness through evidence-based practices in diverse populations.

I understand how intimidating it can be to reach out for help, and I deeply respect the courage it takes to begin this journey. Therefore, my focus is building a strong therapeutic relationship, allowing clients to feel secure enough to explore difficult emotions and experiences; being client-centered, validating experiences without imposing judgments or assumptions; practicing cultural sensitivity and humility, with mindfulness of how culture, race, religion, gender identity, sexuality, and lived experiences shape a client’s worldview and mental health; empowering clients to explore, learn, and build tools to manage their lives more effectively; and focusing on the client’s goals and values.

Clear, honest communication is a powerful tool for healing and growth. In our work together, you can expect a space that is warm and supportive, but also direct and intentional. I practice active listening, utilize humor when appropriate, and will give you opportunities to reflect on your experiences, with calmness and patience. I will ask meaningful questions and challenge unhelpful patterns with compassion, designed to help you build the tools to confidently navigate life’s challenges.

My approach to therapy

I believe that effective therapy starts with a strong therapeutic relationship, one built on trust, collaboration, and authenticity. My clinical approach is integrative, blending evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT). No two people are alike, and neither should their therapy be. I will work with you to develop a personalized treatment plan that aligns with your goals and values. I specialize in working with people from diverse cultural, racial, and ethnic backgrounds, and I approach therapy through a lens of cultural humility, curiosity, and compassion.

What you can expect from me

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and I want you to know that your first session with me is designed to be welcoming, low-pressure, and all about you. The purpose of our first session is to begin building a strong therapeutic relationship. I’ll guide the conversation at a comfortable pace, and you’re welcome to share as much or as little that feels right for you. During our first session, we’ll focus on getting to know one another, discussing your goals, reviewing important history, reviewing informed consent, and answering any questions you may have. You don’t need to prepare anything in advance, just come as you are. Above all, our first session is about creating a safe space for you to be yourself, no pressure, no expectations, just the beginning of a supportive and collaborative relationship. I’d be honored to walk with you as you begin your therapy journey.
