Great to meet you!

I am from Green Bay, Wisconsin but have spent a lot of time on the West Coast in Seattle and San Diego. I obtained my Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work with a minor in Educational Policy from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Master’s of Social Work from the University of Washington-Seattle. I have worked with clients aged 4-45 doing individual, group or family based counseling. I focus on addressing trauma, attachment relationships, stress management, anxiety, depression, life changes, grief, and identity work.

My approach to therapy

I take a strengths based, integrative approach to counseling to work towards goals that are individualized to each client. I believe that counseling is about establishing safe relationships, recognizing emotions, communication styles, trauma experiences and how to build skills to understand ourselves and needs better. I tend to use humor, be direct when needed but mostly aim to be a consistent, reliable support and resource for my clients. I am trained in cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, attachment therapy, child and family therapy, EMDR and have past experience working in non-profit clinical settings and college campus counseling.

What you can expect from me

First sessions are all about deciding if my style of counseling is a good fit for your needs, this is a mutual decision as sometimes I may have recommendations to better meet your needs. You can expect that I will ask more questions to learn about you, your interest in counseling, provide some information about me, confidentiality, boundaries and logistics. If continuing with ongoing counseling I promise I will not be talking as much!
