Great to meet you!

My name is Kristin Mueller, and I provide a warm, nurturing, and safe environment for clients and their families and incorporate various techniques and therapies into my work depending on each individual’s needs.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I have worked with children, adolescents, and young adults for the majority of my career and I have shifted to a more 'adult' population as I myself have shifted into the more adult population. Professionally, I enjoy working with individuals that identify as neurodiverse or are considering neurodiversity. The spectrum is large and includes so many different traits and over-lapping conditions. I also enjoy working with anxiety, OCD, women's issues and grief.

My approach to therapy

In working with individuals and families, my clinical perspective comes from a developmental and systemic model -- all people develop and change as they progress through life and this growth all takes place in a system that is influenced by our genetics, our upbringing, and the world around us. My approach to therapy is variable, it is dependent on the goals and the timeframe for therapy. One consistent thing that I do bring to therapy is warmth and humor - even in our darkest times there is something out there to laugh about.

What you can expect from me

A first session with me will focus on getting to know one another and determining our fit. I believe the most important part of any therapeutic relationship is comfort, security, and trust - if the professional relationship doesn't feel right, it's a conversation I want to have. It's important to me that people find the 'right' therapist to work with - whether it is me or another colleague. The first session will also include some fact-finding and discussion of the structure and legal/ethical parts of the therapist-client relationship, but I'll keep that brief. I prefer to talk with you about you!
