Great to meet you!

Maybe something you've been through still affects how safe you feel, how easily you trust people, or how you react when you're overwhelmed. You may be a teen struggling with anxiety, ADHD, family conflict, or feeling misunderstood, or an adult using alcohol or substances to quiet thoughts and emotions that feel too heavy to carry. For LGBTQ+ clients, you may also be navigating relationships, family acceptance, identity, or the exhaustion of feeling like you constantly have to explain or defend who you are. I work with children, teens, and adults who are tired of feeling controlled by their past, their emotions, or the ways they've learned to cope. You'll have a space where you can talk openly about what's really happening without judgment. My goal is to help you feel safer in your own life, more confident in who you are, and better equipped to handle what comes next.

My approach to therapy

I don't believe therapy should look exactly the same for every person. We'll focus on what's actually happening in your everyday life and identify the thoughts, behaviors, and experiences that may be keeping you stuck. That might mean learning how to calm yourself when something triggers a painful memory, creating routines that make ADHD easier to manage, finding healthier ways to cope instead of turning to alcohol or substances, or communicating your needs without every conversation becoming an argument. When trauma is part of your story, we'll work through it at a pace that feels manageable rather than forcing you to revisit painful experiences before you're ready. We'll also build on the strengths and coping skills you already have instead of focusing only on what's going wrong. The goal is to help you make changes that actually carry over into your relationships, family life, school, work, and everyday experiences.

What you can expect from me

You don't need to come to your first session knowing exactly what to say or ready to tell me everything you've been through. We'll start with what's been happening lately, what feels hardest right now, and what you would genuinely like to be different. For younger clients, we'll also talk about what's happening at home, at school, and within the family while making sure they have space to feel heard themselves. I'll want to understand what you've already tried, what's helping, and where you continue to feel stuck. There is no pressure to discuss trauma, identity, substance use, or anything else before you feel comfortable doing so. My goal is for you to leave feeling understood and with a clear sense of what we can begin working on together.
