Great to meet you!

I’m so glad you’re here. The world can seem like an overwhelming place and making the choice to get help is an incredibly powerful one. I became a therapist because I care about making a difference and I believe in the resiliency of the human spirit. I will work with you to make therapy into a rewarding journey of profound self-discovery.

I have a genuine passion for working to help others find the tools they need to live a fulfilling and happy life. I think it’s important to work closely with each person to build a safe and supportive environment in therapy so that real and lasting change can occur. Asking for help takes tremendous courage. You're worth it.

My approach to therapy

Therapy is about you and your needs and I will honor your process. I am here to guide you in self-reflection and offer a new perspective. I always want to make sure you feel safe to share your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. The brave act of being vulnerable can be transformative and I will always be here to honor your truth without judgment.

Many times in therapy, a journey can look like first building a therapeutic relationship and developing coping skills and healthy habits. Next we look at where you’d like to start, either with the past or the present. We can process trauma and grief or work on things you’d like to change in your life, or both. You lead the way.

You might have questions about how to make meaning in your life. Meaning and passion are vital to happiness and fulfillment. Therapy can also be a place to explore your identity and values, to look at who you are and who you want to become. I care about creating a safe space for everyone to explore all aspects of their identity including gender, sexuality, race, etc. and any oppression experienced.

Some of the ways that I support your growth are through client centered therapy and trauma informed care, such as with EMDR, IFS, DBT, and Somatic Experiencing. I also use mindfulness-based strategies and insight-oriented approaches.

What you can expect from me

I specialize in working with clients who have experienced trauma, substance use, chronic illness, or are part of the queer community. I use multiple trauma-informed approaches, and focus on helping clients become more regulated, learn coping skills, repair attachment trauma, work on integrating all parts of themself, and slowly processing difficult experiences to repair activated nervous systems.

Another passion I have is working with neurocomplex, high sensitivity individuals, and folks with high insight. Are you often seen as “high functioning” but only in areas perceived by others (such as work or school) when your personal life or relationships suffer? I work with individuals with high capacity (often former gifted kids) who struggle to get out of their heads and need help learning to put insight into action and stop self sabotaging. I will help you to increase the ability to tolerate discomfort instead of escaping, and stop being paralyzed by self doubt and stuck in functional freeze.

I create a space of safety, non-judgmental lived experience, and consent which allows you to safely come back to your body, learn self trust, create congruence, and sit with fear. I love working with “highly sensitive” folks who struggle with the growth edges of this temperament. I believe high insight/sensitivity can really be a super power if you learn how to harness it. I will facilitate building resilience and leveraging those perceived flaws into resources.
