Dr. Kristina Clevinger (she/her/hers) is a licensed psychologist who is passionate about helping teens and young adults learn more about themselves and initiate change through individual therapy and psychological evaluations. She specializes in disordered eating and body image, interpersonal and relational problems, anxiety, identity development, and adjustment concerns/life transitions.
Additionally, Dr. Clevinger has extensive experience in sport psychology and athlete mental health. She is a Certified Mental Performance Consultant® and works with both highly competitive and recreational athletes needing support for mental health concerns, coping with and recovering from injury, career transition and sport retirement, as well as performance enhancement.
Dr. Clevinger believes that the foundation to a beneficial therapy experience is an authentic and collaborative therapeutic relationship. She has been described as empathetic, warm, and kind, and she strives to help clients gain greater understanding of their patterns and create change consistent with the lives they envision. She utilizes an integrative approach, grounded in interpersonal and cognitive behavioral theories, that is tailored to the needs and goals of each client.
Dr. Clevinger earned her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of North Texas. She has clinical experience in university counseling centers, university athletics, a pediatric medical center, and community mental health and sport psychology clinics.
