Welcome! My name is Kristina Shamp, LCSW. I'm passionate about helping individuals overcome challenges and create meaningful, lasting change. Throughout the years of working as a therapist, I have primarily focused on substance use concerns. I have also worked with clients struggling with anxiety, depression, negative thought patterns, relationship difficulties, communication challenges, and issues related to self-esteem and self-worth. My goal for every client is to feel supported and understood - especially during times when they may feel alone.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and hold a Master's in Social Work from Roberts Wesleyan College.
My approach is collaborative and person-centered, combining CBT, DBT, MI, and mindfulness techniques to meet each client where they are.
While therapy can be serious at times, my approach also invites moments of laughter, lightness, and celebration along the way.
Our first meeting will be a chance to slow down, get comfortable, and begin building a connection in a relaxed, judgement-free space. During this session, we will work towards completing your intake assessment, in which is a process that helps me gather information about you and your goals.
