Great to meet you!

I’m Kristina Yuen, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 10 years of experience. I earned my Master’s degree from St. Mary’s College of California in 2015, and have received training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Perinatal and Postnatal Mental Health. In 2023, I also became a Certified Doula.

I specialize in working with individuals and families, recognizing that healing often involves supporting everyone in the process. My approach is deeply grounded in trauma-informed care, creating a safe and compassionate space to explore and heal from past experiences. Whether you are facing challenges related to relationships, trauma, life transitions, or the unique experiences of pregnancy and postpartum, I am here to offer support, guidance, and understanding every step of the way.

A bit about my approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is client-centered, meaning we would focus on creating a space where you feel fully heard, valued, and understood. I believe in being open and flexible, adapting to your needs as we work together toward your goals. We’ll take a big-picture view, exploring not just the challenges you’re facing now but also the deeper patterns and connections that influence your life. My aim is to support you in gaining insight, healing, and moving forward in a way that feels true to you.

What you can expect from our first session

In sessions with me, you can expect a warm, open environment where you’ll be comfortable sharing and exploring your thoughts and feelings. We’ll work together to set therapy goals that feel right for you, with a focus on what you want to achieve. We'll celebrate every step of progress, big or small, and support you in discovering your own strength and growth. My goal is for you to leave each session feeling empowered and more confident in your journey.
