Great to meet you!

I have been licensed since 2014 and have worked with many different types of clients. I understand that life is full of challenges, and we all need a little help at times. I come from a broken home as an only child of divorce, with an alcoholic father who was absent most of my life. I had to fend for myself when I was in my teenage years. I understand drug abuse, domestic violence/sexual assault, and other traumatic events. I have been there as well as those who come to me for help. I know what it is like to struggle, and it takes bravery to admit that you need a bit of help. That is what I am here for. My life experiences have helped me get where I am and help others. I am open in my therapeutic style. Do not be afraid to come to me for help! I am an open book and will listen and do all I can to get you through your most challenging times. We will learn and grow together! Nothing you ask of me or tell me will offend me. I am an empathetic and confident counselor who wishes to help you be YOUR BEST SELF! Together, we can take the journey down the road of your life and find the right and wrong turns, and we can fix that. LET’S BATTLE THOSE DEMONS!

My approach to therapy

I attended Capella University, where I hold a master’s degree in clinical and counseling psychology, as well as a degree in forensic psychology. and use a variety of techniques depending on the client’s needs. I utilize a combination of therapy modalities. I like to use the approach to therapy that makes clients most comfortable. I am more client-driven in my therapy and like to let the client lead the sessions, as they are coming to me to talk about their feelings, not for me to fix them. I have found most just need to be heard. Occasionally, I assign homework for my clients to complete between sessions. Always flexible to my clients' needs, I utilize the model that best fits each client’s personality. I am multiculturally aware, making me a perfect choice as a therapist for all.

What you can expect from me

I look forward to helping you, and it takes bravery to reach out to someone for help. We all need that at times, and I am the person for you! I am very casual and laid back; do not hesitate to bring up any subject with me. We will work together to find solutions! I will never tell you how to fix your issues, but guide you down the path of exploring the best options and how to best make progress with utilizations os those options
