Great to meet you!

If you've sat across from a therapist and wondered whether they'd truly seen anything close to what you're carrying, experience matters in ways that are hard to overstate. Some people know exactly what they need: someone who has genuinely been in the room with complexity, crisis, and the full weight of human experience. Not just trained for it. Seasoned by it.

I've spent nearly 30 years working across crisis stabilization units, disaster zones, criminal justice settings, military organizations, EAP programs, and private practice — supervising clinicians, presenting nationally, and sitting with people across every conceivable background and circumstance. After that kind of career, experience isn't something I claim. It's something you'll feel.

I work with adults navigating trauma, PTSD, mood disorders, life transitions, relationship challenges, grief, and complex, layered experiences that don't fit neatly into a single category. I draw on CBT, DBT, Stages of Change, and evidence-based approaches — always tailored to the person in front of me rather than applied as a formula.

I'm also a Certified Mediator, which shapes how I understand conflict, communication, and the dynamics that develop between people under pressure — in relationships, families, and within ourselves. That background matters more than people expect: it means I understand not just what people are feeling, but how those feelings move between people and create patterns that can feel impossible to break from the inside.

What I've learned is that people who seek out an experienced therapist are often carrying something they've never been able to fully put down — not because they haven't tried, but because they haven't found someone who could hold it with them without flinching. That's what I offer — hard-won clinical wisdom that only comes from having genuinely sat with the full range of human experience.

My approach to therapy

Therapy with me is a conversation with direction. I listen carefully and ask the questions that open things up rather than close them down — and when something needs to be said directly, I say it. I'm warm but I don't sugarcoat, and I don't believe in letting someone stay comfortable in a pattern that's keeping them stuck. The work we do together will be honest, grounded, and always moving somewhere.

What you can expect from me

Most people notice something shift early — not because the hard work is behind them, but because they finally feel held by someone who can handle what they're carrying. Over time, that translates into something more tangible: clearer thinking, steadier responses, and a growing sense that the things that once felt impossible to face are becoming navigable. That's what this work builds toward.
