Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Kristine “Kristy” Youst, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who is passionate about helping people feel more like themselves again during life’s difficult or emotionally heavy seasons. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Auburn University and my master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University, and I have experience working with adolescents, young adults, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, infertility, grief, life transitions, and feelings of overwhelm or disconnection. I have a special passion for supporting women through the emotional challenges that can come with loss, identity shifts, and major life changes. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe, supported, and never alone in what you’re carrying.

My approach to therapy

I believe therapy should feel like a supportive space where you can show up as you are, feel heard, and begin making sense of what you’re going through. My approach is warm, compassionate, and personalized because every person’s story and needs are different. I draw from approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Person-Centered Therapy, and Narrative Therapy to help clients better understand themselves, manage life’s challenges, build healthier coping skills, and move toward healing and growth in a way that feels realistic and meaningful.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other in a warm, supportive, and judgment-free space. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you to therapy, the challenges you’ve been facing, and what you hope to get out of our work together. You do not need to have everything figured out before starting. My goal is to help you feel comfortable, heard, and supported from the very beginning as we take the first steps toward healing, growth, and feeling more like yourself again.
