Kristy has been a practicing therapist for 10 years, Certified PCIT International Therapist for 4 years, Compliance Supervisor for other therapists, has been Teacher of the Year 2023 at her elementary school, and am a Licensed Educator for the State of Florida for 18 years. She has the unique experience of being both in the clinical and education setting and is, therefore, very familiar with IEPs for families.
She specializes in OCD, anxiety, social anxiety, childhood trauma, and neurodivergence (working with clients with ADHD and that are on the autism spectrum). Kristy is experienced in ERP for OCD, CBT for anxiety and depression, play therapy when working with children, and Parent Child Interaction Therapy (to work through attachment concerns with children and their parents for under age 6).
The areas of OCD that she has experience working most frequently with are contamination OCD, scrupulosity, "just right," and magical thinking. She also has a lot of experience including family members into session to work with their kiddos on exposures and reducing accommodation to the OCD.
My approach in a therapy is structured, but I am willing to take a non-structured approach if a client requests this.
