My approach to therapy

My work with relationships is based in attachment theory and I enjoy helping families step out of old patterns, heal old wounds, and create secure attachment. Our emotional awareness in ourselves and others gives us the information we need to communicate more effectively and become more responsive with our loved ones. I help couples learn about their negative cycle and move towards each other and emotional connection. Families can learn to understand each other's needs and behaviors that can get misunderstood during conflicts. I am passionate about helping pregnant families prepare for their birth and create a safe, responsive environment for the baby and each other. Positive parenting and nonviolent communication are tools that can help parents increase connection with their children and find creative ways to set loving boundaries that allow for everyone's needs to be met. Understanding the age-appropriate behaviors and stages of development can help parents make better choices to support their children in their growth.
