Great to meet you!

NOW ACCEPTING COLORADO CLIENTS. Licensed in Colorado, Texas, and Nevada.

Hi, I'm Kristy Hayes, a Licensed Professional Counselor with 15 years of experience helping adults navigate life's challenges with greater self-understanding, resilience, and authenticity. I believe that feeling safe, accepted, and genuinely understood is the foundation for meaningful change.

I specialize in working with LGBTQ+ individuals, people in nontraditional relationships, those navigating life transitions, anxiety, relationship concerns, grief, self-esteem issues, and the process of figuring out who they are and how they want to live. I also enjoy working with helping professionals, creatives, and people who have spent much of their lives taking care of others while struggling to prioritize themselves.

Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, stuck in unhelpful patterns, or exhausted from trying to meet everyone else's expectations. Together, we'll work to understand what's getting in the way, strengthen your coping skills, improve your relationships, and help you build a life that feels more aligned with your values and who you truly are.

I strive to create a warm, affirming, and nonjudgmental space where you don't have to hide parts of yourself to be accepted. You don't have to have everything figured out before starting therapy. We'll work together to help you feel more confident, connected, and empowered moving forward.

My approach to therapy

I believe therapy works best when you feel safe enough to show up exactly as you are. Building a strong, trusting relationship is one of the most important parts of the work we do together. My goal is to create a space where you feel heard, understood, and accepted without judgment.

Together, we'll explore the patterns, experiences, relationships, and beliefs that may be contributing to the challenges you're facing. I combine warmth, curiosity, practical tools, and psychoeducation to help you better understand yourself and move toward meaningful change. I tailor therapy to each person, drawing from a variety of approaches based on your unique needs, strengths, and goals.

What you can expect from me

Starting therapy can feel vulnerable, so my first priority is helping you feel comfortable and supported. During our first session, we'll talk about what brings you to therapy, what has been feeling difficult lately, and what you hope will be different in your life.

We'll work together to identify goals that feel important and meaningful to you, and begin creating a path forward that fits who you are. Because I work exclusively through telehealth, I often incorporate creativity, resources, and interactive tools to make therapy engaging, practical, and personalized.
