Great to meet you!

Are you experiencing difficulties with picking up pieces after your spouse’s passing? Do you find yourself wondering where do I go from here and how? Navigating life after the loss of your spouse can be complicated, confusing, and quite dreadful. However, we each possess the gift of resilience. Even with the massive hole in your heart, you can move forward and live the life that your spouse would want you to have and that you deserve.

My name is Kristy Johnson, LPC, and I’m the owner of D3 Therapy Services. As a widow myself, I had to learn and practice tools (and continue to use them) to manage my waves of grief and rebuild myself. Life throws curve balls when you least expect it and with each trial, you get to learn how to grow and adapt. Over the past twelve years, I’ve worked within numerous settings (outpatient, crisis unit, dual treatment facility, groups) and specialized in different areas of therapy: trauma, anxiety, depression, anger management, substance use, and domestic violence. I hold a CAMS-II certificate in anger management and am identified as a certified CPT provider for trauma.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I have a passion to help anyone that is willing to learn and apply skills to increase satisfaction in their lives. I come from a solution focused brief Therapy (SFBT) background but will use other forms of therapeutic techniques (cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, person-centered, motivational interviewing, cognitive processing therapy) to tailor treatment that fits your individual needs. After all, there is no “one size fits all” when it comes to therapy.

What you can expect from our first session

As a therapist, I will be empathetic, show compassion, and provide two listening ears. But I will also challenge and encourage deep thinking to assist you with growth and movement forward. Therapy has some risks, but greater potential rewards. Let’s connect and see how we can work together to rebuild you – the you that you are meant to be.
