Great to meet you!

Dr. Kristyan Kouri received her Ph.D. in Sociology in 1994 and her M.A. in 1990 from the University of Southern California.

As a psychotherapist, Dr. Kouri strives to help individuals, couples, and families work through challenges, achieve their goals, and reduce stress. She believes that a supportive, comfortable, and welcoming environment is essential to the therapeutic process.

Warm, down-to-earth, and easy to talk to, Dr. Kouri seeks to create a space where clients feel heard, understood, and comfortable exploring their concerns. Her goal is to help clients navigate life's challenges, gain perspective, and move toward meaningful, positive change.

My approach to therapy

I listen carefully to my clients' concerns with an open mind and without judgment. I strive to create a comfortable, supportive environment where clients feel heard and understood. When appropriate, I offer thoughtful feedback and guidance to help clients gain insight, explore new perspectives, and identify ways to move forward.

What you can expect from me

I begin by inviting clients to share the issues they would like to work through and the goals they hope to achieve. Together, we explore the steps they have already taken to address their concerns, resolve problems, or move toward their goals.

From there, we discuss possible next steps and develop a plan that reflects each client's individual needs and objectives. My approach is collaborative and supportive, with an emphasis on helping clients gain clarity, manage stress, overcome challenges, and make meaningful progress toward the changes they want to see in their lives.
