Great to meet you!

Hello, and welcome! I am passionate about creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered.

I earned my bachelor’s degree from Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and my master’s degree from the University of North Texas at Dallas. My professional experience includes working as a school counselor, supporting adults with mental health diagnoses at MHMR, and serving clients in a private-practice setting.

Throughout my career, I have worked with individuals experiencing a wide range of concerns—from everyday stress and general anxiety to significant life challenges and complex trauma. These experiences have strengthened my ability to meet clients with compassion, patience, and an understanding that every person’s story and healing journey are unique.

I welcome and serve clients from all populations, backgrounds, identities, and walks of life. My goal is to provide an inclusive environment where you can be your authentic self while developing greater self-awareness, building healthy coping skills, and working toward meaningful change.

Seeking counseling is a courageous step, and you do not have to navigate life’s challenges alone. I would be honored to support you on your journey toward healing, growth, and emotional wellness.

My approach to therapy

My therapeutic approach is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which focuses on understanding how our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected. Through this approach, I help clients identify unhelpful thought patterns, develop healthier coping strategies, and make meaningful changes that support their emotional well-being.

I understand that every client is unique and that therapy is not one-size-fits-all. I approach each client as an individual and tailor the therapeutic process to their specific needs, experiences, goals, and comfort level. My practice is client-focused, collaborative, and rooted in compassion.

What you can expect from me

During your first counseling session, you can expect a warm, welcoming, and nonjudgmental environment where you have the freedom to show up as your authentic self. We will take time to discuss what brought you to counseling, what you hope to gain from the experience, and the goals you would like to work toward. I will also explain what you can expect from me and the counseling process, and I will welcome any questions or concerns you may have. Together, we will begin developing an individualized counseling plan that reflects your needs, priorities, and personal goals. Most importantly, our first session will be an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a safe, trusting therapeutic relationship.
