Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Krystle Fiengo, PMHNP-BC, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 15 years of experience in healthcare. My path into psychiatry has been both professional and personal. I started as a pharmacy technician, drawn to how medications could support healing. Over time, I realized I wanted to care for the whole person—mind, heart, body, and soul. That desire led me to become a nurse and, eventually, a psychiatric nurse practitioner.

I’ve worked in a wide range of settings, including pharmacies, acute rehab, hospitals, inpatient psychiatric units, a neuroscience research unit, and community mental health. These experiences gave me a deep and well-rounded understanding of mental health care and the many factors that shape well-being.

Along the way, I’ve been mentored by amazing professionals—a Yale psychiatrist and professor, a physician with expertise in addiction medicine, and several experienced pharmacists—whose guidance continues to shape my clinical values and approach.

I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and trauma-related conditions. I use a trauma-informed, person-centered lens to create a safe, respectful, and empowering space where individuals feel heard, supported, and not judged. I believe healing begins with connection, and I approach every session with empathy, curiosity, and care.

My own lived experiences have given me a deeper understanding of what it means to struggle and reach for help. I carry that insight into every interaction and stay grounded in compassion. I’m a strong advocate for my patients and believe in informed choice, open communication, and shared decision-making. Together, we’ll explore what wellness looks like for you and work toward it—at your pace, honoring your goals and values.

My approach to therapy

My approach to treating people with mental health needs is focused on seeing each person as an individual and helping them reach their own goals for feeling better. I believe it's very important that patients are involved in making decisions about their care and fully understand their options. I always try to communicate openly, build trust, and treat everyone with kindness and respect. I care about making sure each person feels comfortable and confident in the treatment plan we create together.

What you can expect from me

You can expect to leave sessions feeling truly seen and heard, knowing your experiences and feelings are fully acknowledged without judgment. You should feel cared for in a compassionate and respectful environment where your well-being is the priority. Most importantly, you should feel supported—empowered to take an active role in your healing journey with confidence and hope for the future.
