Great to meet you!

Hello, I’m Kuan-Lin. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist originally from Taiwan, and I provide therapy in English, Mandarin, and Taiwanese.

Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, especially if you are used to being the one who holds everything together. You may have spent years showing up for your family, career, children, partner, or community while quietly carrying stress, grief, resentment, loneliness, anger, abuse or emotional pain. You may have already done some reflection, read self-help books, or even been in therapy for a while, but still feel like you have reached a wall and can improve further.

Wherever you are in your journey, you do not have to navigate it alone.

I am especially passionate about supporting international, multicultural, Mandarin- and Taiwanese-speaking clients who are seeking therapy in a space where language, discourse, family dynamics, and lived experiences are deeply understood. I recognize how systemic values, immigration experiences, achievement pressure, intergenerational expectations, family loyalty, and unspoken society rules can shape the way we view ourselves and relate to others.

I also have specialized experience supporting children and families within TK–12 school systems, including special education and IEP-related concerns. I enjoy helping parents feel more grounded, informed, and confident as they support their children while also caring for themselves.

My approach to therapy

My clinical work is rooted in postmodern and Narrative Therapy theory, multicultural counseling, and family systems.

I am skilled in providing:

• EMDR

• Trauma-focused therapy

• Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction

• Attachment Theory

• Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

• Motivational Interviewing

I see therapy as a space where we can pause, reconnect with ourselves, and make sense of our experiences with greater clarity and self-compassion.

What you can expect from me

In our first few sessions, I want to understand your story:

• What happened to you

• What feels difficult now

• What changes you hope to make

Together, we will create a treatment plan that feels supportive, practical, and aligned with your goals.

As we continue working together, I hope to help you understand how your past experiences

may have shaped your beliefs, emotional patterns, relationships, and the way you present yourself today.

At the same time, I want to help you remember that your past does not define your full potential or the entirety of who you are.

Painful experiences may have influenced how you protect yourself, how you make decisions, or how you imagine your future—but that is not the end of your story.

Healing is possible. Growth is possible. Change is possible.

I truly believe it is never too late to care for yourself, reconnect with your strengths, and begin writing a different chapter. I would be honored to walk alongside you in that journey.
