We may have seasons in our lives that are filled with stress, anxiety, sadness, grief, and even hopelessness. Or we may be going through transitions in career or relationships, and are feeling unsatisfied and uncertain about your future. My passion is in supporting people who feel stuck or overwhelmed by the stresses of life to find their way toward healing, growth, and renewal. I've had the privilege for over 10 years of clinical practice in supporting many of my clients toward their goals.
My therapeutic style is warm and collaborative, and sessions may range from silent presence to energetic discussions. I value and commit to creating a safe, empathetic, non-judgmental, and culturally sensitive environment for my clients. I use therapy modalities such as mindfulness, CBT, and acceptance and commitment therapy. I work with clients to be radically compassionate and honest to ourselves, valuing and validating our emotions, and building self-affirming thoughts and beliefs.
I help clients to manage stress through understanding and appreciating how our bodies respond to stress, and using meditation and breathing relaxation skills to find balance and renewal. Practicing boundaries and limits, self-care, building on strengths and developing resilience are also emphasized. As an Asian immigrant, I've experienced the challenges of adapting to a new culture, and I am sensitive to issues related to acculturation and conflict between immigrant parents and children.
