Great to meet you!

Hi! I am a mental health therapist who works primarily with the queer and trans community. I have experience with gender and sexual identities, depression, anxiety, sexual trauma and domestic violence, self-harm and disordered eating, as well as, psychosis, and serious and chronic mental health conditions. I have an Ed.D. in Professional Counseling and focused my dissertation on the therapeutic relationship while I focused my MA on trauma and PTSD.

My approach to therapy

I strive to be genuine and authentic. I use a variety of theories to inform my approach including person-centered and relational-cultural theory. I like to be creative and meet the clients where they are at; if something doesn't work, we will try something else. Talking is important and so is making behavioral changes. We will explore coping skills, lifestyle changes, and cognitive changes such as altering perspectives or building self-esteem. My approach is client-centered, built around your goals. It is important to me that you feel heard and seen.

What you can expect from me

Common goals include increasing coping strategies to manage a range of emotional responses, understanding emotional responses and learning to identify emotions, increasing hope and a more positive sense of self, understanding your symptoms and conditions, and fostering more connection with self and others. I hope that our work together is about more than a decrease in troubling symptoms. I want to help you increase your satisfaction with life and build a better relationship with yourself.
