Great to meet you!

People often come to therapy because they are tired of trying to hold everything together while feeling overwhelmed. You may be dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional reactions that feel difficult to control, or experiences that still affect you long after they happened. I work with adolescents and adults who want to better understand themselves and make meaningful changes in their lives. My style is warm, down-to-earth, and engaged. I will not simply sit back, nod, and expect you to figure everything out alone. I do not view therapy as fixing what is “wrong” with you. Instead, we will explore what you have experienced, what your mind and body learned to do to protect you, and what may help you feel more grounded and in control now.

My approach to therapy

Sometimes you need practical skills to help you get through a difficult Tuesday afternoon. Other times, you need space to understand why the same patterns keep showing up, or to process experiences that still feel present even though they happened in the past.

I draw from CBT, DBT, EMDR, and trauma-informed care, but I do not expect you to fit into a specific treatment model. We may work on managing intense emotions, challenging unhelpful patterns, improving relationships, processing difficult memories, or reconnecting with parts of yourself that have been pushed aside.

Therapy with me is collaborative, but it is not passive. I will listen, ask questions, offer honest feedback, teach practical strategies, and help you connect what happens in session to your everyday life.

What you can expect from me

We will talk about what brought you to therapy, what you would like to feel different, and what has (or has not) helped in the past. You can share as much or as little as feels manageable, and I will help guide the conversation so you do not have to arrive knowing exactly what to say.

Before we finish, we will identify a starting point for our work and talk openly about whether the fit feels right. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, less uncertain about the process, and clearer about what comes next.
