Great to meet you!

I've been a practitioner in the state of Texas for more than 30 years. I've worked in private practice, with CPS, provided services for drug and alcohol addiction, worked as a teacher and crisis counselor in public schools, and served as a Military Family Life Counselor. My graduate work was completed at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. I reside in a tiny town on the northern edge of the beautiful Texas Hill Country.

My approach to therapy

Therapy shouldn't be more traumatic than your trauma! You may even laugh a lot! Your sessions will be practical and informal, and you will never be judged here. Your safety and comfort are paramount to me. The reasons you come to therapy are difficult enough. Together we will identify faulty thinking and beliefs based on your life's experience, and chart a path to greater insight that does include hard work, but ends in much greater contentment.

What you can expect from me

The "magic" of therapy doesn't come so much from the time we spend together, but in the time that passes between those sessions. The last thing you'll hear from me at the end of most sessions is, "What's your take away from today's work?" Sometimes there will be homework, or a challenge to tackle between sessions. Therapy is about recognition and preparation. The benefits to your life are about how well you apply those things to your life. I can't wait to meet you!
