Great to meet you!

Who am I?

I am an army brat and had the privilege of living in many states and countries before settling down in Texas. I quickly found a love for The Dallas Mavericks; in fact, I have a little boy, named Maverick! I work full time as a middle school counselor in a title I district and own my own private practice, Be Held Counseling. When I’m not working, I love traveling and immersing myself in new places and cultures. I enjoy spending time with friends and family, trying new restaurants, cooking, hiking, and reading.

My approach to therapy

I hope you quickly feel the support I am able to provide by creating a genuine, empathetic, and non-judgmental environment. My goal is to develop a safe space and meet you where you are at by building our therapeutic relationship through a culturally responsive, trauma informed, person-centered approach, allowing you to guide the direction your journey. I also utilize CBT techniques, solution-focused techniques, and art therapy in session depending on the client's needs. I tailor each treatment plan to match my client's values and goals.

What you can expect from me

I am extremely passionate about the adults, adolescents, and families I serve. I’ve always felt a sense of comfort in my ability to help others through their worst days. It is my biggest joy to join in celebrating the moments when growth occurs. If you are reading this, I hope you feel you know me a little better and feel confident in my ability to help you on your journey. I cannot promise that it will always be easy along the way, but I promise if you stick with me, it’ll be worth it!
