Great to meet you!

Lacey is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who specializes in treating ADHD, complex trauma, anxiety disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder, “third culture kid” and Christian ministry issues, and foster care and adoption-related concerns. As a thriving Type 1 Diabetic, she has personal and professional experience helping patients cope with diabetes or other chronic illnesses. Lacey sees adults virtual sessions and leads virtual groups for adults with ADHD.

Lacey was born in Texas, but spent her teenage years overseas, where her parents served as missionaries. She returned to Texas to get her Bachelor’s and Master’s in Social Work from Baylor University. In college, she spent her summers working at Pine Cove Christian Camps. When she graduated, she began her career in the child welfare system where she supervised and trained CASA volunteers, ran a mentoring program for youth aging out of foster care, and licensed and trained prospective foster and adoptive families. Lacey is trained in Trust Based Relational Intervention ©, a caregiving model that is designed to meet the needs of children from hard places.

My approach to therapy

Lacey uses a variety of therapy modalities to meet her patients’ needs, but her continuing education focus is in Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and trauma informed therapy modalities. She believes that gaining insight and knowledge is often a necessary tool to bring needed change, so she will use psychoeducation and homework to maximize success outside of the counseling session. If symptoms do not improve within a few weeks of seeing Lacey, she may recommend clients to follow up with a physician or psychiatrist to discuss medication or other treatment options for a fuller recovery.

What you can expect from me

Lacey wants her patients to see results from their time in therapy and will involve the patient in the development of the treatment goals.
