Great to meet you!

Great to meet you! I’m Lakeisha Miller, a Licensed Professional Counselor serving adults and couples across Texas through secure telehealth at Lumen Counseling of Texas.

I work with clients navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, grief, life transitions, emotional overwhelm, and relationship challenges. I also have experience supporting healthcare professionals, military-affiliated individuals, and couples who want to strengthen communication, rebuild trust, and create healthier relationship patterns.

My style is warm, collaborative, and goal-oriented. I aim to create a supportive space where clients feel heard, respected, and equipped with practical tools for lasting growth.

My approach to therapy

My approach is thoughtful, compassionate, and direct. I help clients better understand the patterns shaping their emotions, relationships, and day-to-day experiences so they can move forward with greater clarity and confidence.

In therapy, we’ll work together to identify what’s contributing to your current struggles, build practical coping skills, and address deeper beliefs or relationship patterns that may be keeping you stuck. I draw from evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), attachment-based work, and trauma-informed care.

I’m a strong fit for adults and couples looking for support with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, stress, life transitions, and relationship concerns. When requested, I can also thoughtfully integrate Christian faith into the counseling process.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is a chance to get to know each other, talk through what brings you to therapy, and clarify what you’d like help with most. My goal is to create a welcoming, judgment-free environment where you feel comfortable sharing at your own pace.

Together, we’ll identify clear goals for therapy and begin building a plan that reflects your needs, values, and hopes for change. My hope is that you leave sessions feeling heard, understood, and supported — with practical next steps toward healing and growth.
