Lakisha Mitchell

Hello, I am Lakisha Mitchell Masters Level Licensed Clinical Social Work (LCSW), native of Chicago Illinois. I am passionate and dedicated in building trusting relationships. I bring to you, 19 years of experience in providing therapeutic services to individuals, families, and groups: Specializing in grief, stress, anxiety, depression, addiction, domestic violence and life transformation/life changing events. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), my deliberate practice to working with clients is deeply rooted in compassion for people.

I have provided strength-based practice, mental health counseling services in private practice, not for profit sector, residential and outpatient treatment, as well as served in case management in the field of social work. I believe in creating a safe space, fairness, justice and freedom from prejudice, self-awareness and self-management skills.

During your first therapy session, my goal is to help you identify your own goals and find healthy ways to work towards them. I am here to assist you in your journey and provide guidance, while you decide what goals you want to achieve. You don't have to share anything that you’re not comfortable with sharing. This is a safe, compassionate, and empathetic environment where you can build a trusting relationship. As your therapist, I will help you work towards your treatment goals, which may include: coping skills, exploring challenges, gaining insight, create a plan and monitor your progress.
