Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Lakyah! I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a deep belief that healing happens through connection—both with ourselves and with others. I graduated from the Mercer School of Medicine with my Master of Family Therapy. I work with adolescents, teens, adults, and families navigating anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, attachment injuries, and stress. I work with clients from all backgrounds and have a strong interest in supporting diverse and minority populations.

My approach to therapy

My therapeutic style is collaborative, emotionally focused, and attachment-based. I primarily draw from Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), which explores early relationships and life experiences to better understand patterns that show up in the present. Together, we’ll gently uncover underlying emotions and unmet needs that may be contributing to dissatisfaction or disconnection in your life or relationships. When helpful, I also integrate additional approaches to best support your unique needs and goals.

What you can expect from me

In our sessions, you can expect a space that values curiosity, empathy, and collaboration. My goal is to walk alongside you as you strengthen your connection to yourself and others, while honoring the courage it takes to show up and do this work. My work is guided by compassion, cultural awareness, and the belief that meaningful change begins when we feel seen, supported, and understood.
