Great to meet you!

Hello, and welcome! I have over 20 years of experience as a therapist, working with children as young as 2 years old through young adulthood. Throughout my career, I’ve supported individuals and families from many different backgrounds and with a wide range of needs.

My style is warm, supportive, and down-to-earth. I want you to feel comfortable and safe as we work together. I use a variety of approaches—including CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), PCIT (Parent Child Interaction Therapy), CPP (Child Parent Psychotherapy), ARC Grow, and family-focused strategies—to best meet your unique goals.

I believe therapy is a partnership. Whether we’re building coping skills, working through difficult emotions, or helping parents feel more confident in supporting their child, my goal is to help you and your family grow stronger and more resilient.

My approach to therapy

In therapy, I take a collaborative and client-centered approach. I view each individual as the expert of their own life, and my role is to create a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where we can explore your experiences together. I believe that change happens when you feel understood, respected, and empowered to take small, meaningful steps toward your goals.

I integrate evidence-based practices such as cognitive-behavioral techniques, mindfulness, and solution-focused strategies, tailoring each session to meet your unique needs and pace. At the same time, I draw on a strength-based perspective, highlighting your resilience and the coping skills you already possess, while helping you build new ones.

The therapeutic relationship itself is central to the process. I strive to build trust, warmth, and openness so you feel comfortable sharing your challenges, emotions, and hopes. Together, we will set clear goals and work toward them in a way that feels both structured and flexible—adjusting as your needs evolve. Above all, my approach is holistic and compassionate. I see therapy not only as a way to address difficulties but also as an opportunity for growth, self-discovery, and developing healthier ways of relating to yourself and others.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is about creating a safe and welcoming space where you can begin to share your story at your own pace. We’ll start by getting to know each other — I’ll explain my approach to therapy, what the process looks like, and answer any questions you might have. You’ll also have the opportunity to talk about what brings you to therapy and what you’re hoping to gain from it. Together, we’ll explore your goals and discuss the areas of your life that feel most important right now. This might include your current challenges, personal history, or simply how you’ve been feeling day-to-day. There’s no pressure to share everything at once; our focus is on building trust and comfort.

I’ll also review some practical aspects, like confidentiality and session structure, so you know what to expect moving forward. By the end of our first meeting, you’ll have a clearer picture of how we might work together and what the next steps in your therapeutic journey could look like.

My hope is that you leave the first session feeling heard, understood, and supported — with a sense that therapy can be a collaborative and empowering experience.
