Great to meet you!

I’m Laquita Bush, a Licensed Professional Counselor with more than ten years of experience helping children, adolescents, and adults move through life’s challenges with greater confidence and emotional steadiness. I work with clients facing anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, behavioral concerns, emotional regulation difficulties, low self-esteem, and major life transitions. My style is warm, supportive, and collaborative, and I care deeply about creating a space where people feel safe, respected, and never judged. What keeps me connected to this work is the chance to help clients build healthier ways of coping, better understand themselves, and experience real progress that carries into daily life. I believe every person deserves support that is both compassionate and practical, and I want therapy to feel like a place where lasting change becomes possible.

My approach to therapy

My approach is person-centered, evidence-based, and tailored to each client’s unique needs. I believe you are the expert on your own life, even when things feel overwhelming or unclear, and my role is to help you identify your strengths, understand your challenges, and move toward your goals with support and structure. I work primarily with individuals across the lifespan, including children, teens, and adults, and I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Trauma-Informed Care to shape treatment around what will be most helpful for you. My philosophy is that therapy should be both healing and useful: a place where you can process what hurts, build healthier coping skills, improve emotional well-being, and leave with tools that support meaningful, lasting change.

What you can expect from me

Your first session with me is a chance for us to begin building trust and getting a clear understanding of what support you need most right now. We’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, the personal history or patterns that may be affecting how you feel today, and the goals you would like to work toward. You can expect a safe, supportive, judgment-free environment where you can share at your own pace and ask any questions you may have. By the end of that first session, we will begin shaping a personalized treatment plan focused on helping you strengthen coping skills, improve emotional wellness, and make steady, meaningful progress.

In our first sessions, we'll explore questions like: What would healing or progress look like for you? What is bothering you the most? What changes would you hope to see in your life? These conversations help guide our work together and ensure therapy is focused on what matters most to you.
