Great to meet you!

Sometimes life can feel heavy when you are trying to manage difficult emotions while also navigating changes, relationships, and questions about what comes next. Anxiety can leave you feeling overwhelmed or constantly on edge, while depression may make it harder to feel connected to yourself or the people around you. For some, grief cause waves of emotions and trigger a search for meaning. I work with children, adolescents, adults, and seniors experiencing anxiety, depression, and grief. These experiences can also intersect with bipolar disorder, OCD, family issues, stress, anger, panic, trauma, or major life transitions. As a social worker, I believe therapy should be a space where you can bring your whole experience rather than feeling like you have to separate one part of your life from another. Together, we can make sense of what you are going through, build on your strengths, and find ways to move forward that feel meaningful to you.

My approach to therapy

Our work will make room for both what you are experiencing today and the thoughts, emotions, relationships, and life experiences that have shaped you. We’ll explore how anxiety, depression, and grief may be affecting your emotional wellbeing while making space for the other experiences that may be connected to what brings you to therapy. I may use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help you recognize patterns in thoughts and behaviors that contribute to distress, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to help you navigate difficult emotions while staying connected to your values, and Relational Therapy to improve communication skills and self worth to connect in relationships. Psychodynamic approaches can help us explore how earlier experiences and relationships may continue to influence you, while Solution Focused Brief Therapy can help identify strengths and practical steps toward the changes you want to make. Motivational Interviewing can provide space to explore change without pressure, and Psychoeducational Family Therapy can help strengthen understanding and communication within important relationships. Our sessions will be collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in your individual needs, with room for both deeper understanding and practical tools you can use in everyday life.

What you can expect from me

You do not have to know exactly what you need before beginning therapy. During our first few sessions, we will take time to understand what brought you here, what has been most difficult, and what you hope will feel different. Together, we will identify goals that feel meaningful and realistic and decide where it feels most helpful to begin. You can expect me to meet you with an open mind and a supportive, empowering approach while creating a space where you can talk honestly about difficult emotions and experiences without feeling judged. Progress may look like feeling less overwhelmed by anxiety, finding your way through depression, developing healthier ways to manage intense emotions, improving relationships and communication, processing grief or trauma, or finding greater peace and meaning during a significant life transition. We will continue checking in on your goals and adjust our work as your needs evolve.
