Great to meet you!

Sometimes stress isn’t just something happening inside of you—it’s something shaped by your environment, your relationships, your responsibilities, and the roles you’ve had to take on in life.

You may be navigating anxiety, depression, or emotional exhaustion while also managing family expectations, cultural pressures, relationship challenges, or major life transitions. From the outside, you may appear capable and steady, but internally you may feel overwhelmed, stretched thin, or unsure how to hold everything together.

I’m Lashawn, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with extensive experience supporting individuals, families, and communities through anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, women’s issues, and cultural and relational stressors. My background includes both clinical practice and leadership roles in community-based mental health settings, where I’ve worked to expand access to care and support people across a wide range of life circumstances.

My approach focuses on helping you understand the connection between your internal experiences and the external systems you’re navigating, so we can create meaningful and sustainable change.

My approach to therapy

I take a collaborative, structured, and strengths-based approach to therapy.

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), solution-focused strategies, and trauma-informed care to help clients identify thought patterns, emotional responses, and behavioral cycles that may be contributing to stress or feeling stuck.

A large part of my work involves helping clients understand how their environment, relationships, cultural identity, and responsibilities influence their mental health. We don’t just look at symptoms—we look at context.

Together, we build practical tools for coping, communication, boundary-setting, and emotional regulation so you can feel more grounded in your daily life while navigating real-world pressures.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we’ll focus on what has been weighing on you most and what you hope will feel different.

You don’t need to have everything figured out. Many clients come in feeling overwhelmed by multiple stressors at once—family dynamics, work pressure, emotional exhaustion, or long-standing patterns they’re ready to change but unsure how to begin addressing.

Over time, clients often experience improved emotional clarity, stronger boundaries, healthier relationships, and a greater sense of balance in managing both internal and external stressors.

My goal is not just to help you feel better—but to help you function better within the real life you’re living.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed by stress that is connected not just to your thoughts and emotions, but to your relationships, family, culture, or responsibilities, I would be honored to support you in building clarity, resilience, and stability.
