Great to meet you!

Hi, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in California. I received my master's from California State Dominquez Hills and have been in the clinical field for about 30 years and have been a psychotherapist for 16 years and have been operating my private practice for 6years. I help adults and adolescents who are experiencing life challenges become more productive in their personal lives and in their community. My specialties are in the areas of relationship challenges and clinical issues such as anxiety, depression, mood, anger, impulsivity, and self-esteem. Moreover, I have experience with families dealing with child abuse, family custody challenges, substance abuse counseling (men/women), psychotherapy (men/women/adolescents), and group services. My clinical training and therapeutic skills have helped individuals navigate life's experiences through their ups and downs. I am confident in utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Coping Skills Development with a client-centered and solution-focused approach. I focus closely on what I can offer to help, taking one step at a time, keeping the communication active, and empowering individuals to concentrate on self-care. Most of all, to build individuals' motivation to enhance their everyday living.

My approach to therapy

In therapy, I focus on creating a genuine therapeutic relationship built on trust, empathy, respect, and open communication. I use evidence-informed therapeutic techniques tailored to each client’s individual needs, strengths, goals, and circumstances. Together, we can work on understanding emotions, challenging unhelpful thought patterns, strengthening coping skills, improving emotional regulation, building confidence, developing healthier relationships and self-empowerment.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin creating a comfortable, trusting therapeutic relationship. I will listen to what brings you to therapy, learn about your current concerns, and discuss the challenges you may be experiencing. We will also talk about your goals, strengths, and what you hope to gain from counseling.

I understand that starting therapy can feel uncomfortable or intimidating, so I strive to create a warm, welcoming, and judgment-free environment. You do not need to have everything figured out or know exactly what to say. We will move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

During the first session, I will explain my approach to therapy, answer questions you may have, and collaborate with you on developing a plan that supports your needs and goals. You can expect empathy, respect, active listening, and a genuine effort to understand your unique experiences.

Most importantly, my goal is for you to leave your first session feeling heard, supported, and hopeful about the possibility of positive change.
