My approach to therapy

My philosophy of care is grounded in compassion, collaboration, and respect for each individual’s unique experiences. I believe that effective mental health treatment begins with building a trusting, therapeutic relationship where patients feel heard, valued, and supported.

I take a holistic, patient-centered approach that considers biological, psychological, social, and cultural factors when developing treatment plans. By integrating evidence-based medication management with education and supportive therapeutic interventions, I work collaboratively with patients and families to create individualized care plans that align with their goals, values, and stage of life.

Through telehealth, I am committed to increasing access to high-quality mental health care while maintaining meaningful connections and continuity of care. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental environment that empowers patients across the lifespan to actively participate in their treatment, build resilience, and achieve long-term emotional well-being.

What you can expect from me

Your first telehealth session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin building a collaborative plan for your mental health care. This initial visit is typically a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and may last longer than follow-up appointments.

During the session, we will:

  • Review your current concerns, symptoms, and goals for treatment
  • Discuss your mental health, medical, and family history
  • Review current medications, past treatments, and any side effects
  • Explore social, developmental, and lifestyle factors that may be impacting your well-being
  • Complete appropriate screening tools to help guide diagnosis and treatment

If medication is recommended, we will discuss potential benefits, risks, and alternatives, and ensure you have time to ask questions. Treatment planning is a collaborative process, and your input is an important part of your care.

How to Prepare

  • Choose a private, quiet space where you feel comfortable speaking openly
  • Ensure you have a reliable internet connection and a device with audio and video
  • Have a list of current medications and any previous mental health treatments available
  • Write down any questions or concerns you would like to discuss

After the Session

By the end of the appointment, you can expect to have a clearer understanding of your diagnosis (if applicable), treatment options, and next steps. Follow-up appointments, referrals, or additional resources will be discussed as needed.

My goal is to create a supportive, respectful, and nonjudgmental space where you feel heard and empowered from the very first session.
