Great to meet you!

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who believes therapy should be a space where you can be honest, feel supported, and work toward meaningful change without judgment. My approach is warm, collaborative, and practical. I want clients to feel comfortable bringing their full selves into the therapy space while also feeling challenged and supported as they work toward their goals.

I earned my Master of Social Work from East Tennessee State University, along with a graduate certificate in Drug and Alcohol Addiction. In addition to my clinical work, I am a social work professor and doctoral student pursuing a Doctor of Social Work degree with a focus on social work education.

My clinical interests include substance use and recovery, relationship and family concerns, anxiety, depression, life transitions, stress, trauma, boundaries, and interpersonal challenges. I also enjoy working with individuals who may appear to have everything together on the outside but are carrying significant responsibilities, expectations, or emotional weight behind the scenes.

My therapeutic approach draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, trauma-informed care, and relationship-focused approaches. Rather than using the same approach with every client, I tailor our work to your individual needs, strengths, experiences, and goals.

Most importantly, you can expect me to show up as a real person. Therapy with me includes compassion, curiosity, warmth, accountability, and sometimes humor. My goal is to create a space where you feel heard and respected while helping you develop the insight and practical tools needed to create the changes you want in your life.

My approach to therapy

My style is warm, conversational, collaborative, and strengths-based. I believe you are the expert on your own life, so I won’t tell you who you should be or what your life should look like. Instead, we’ll work together to understand what is happening, identify patterns that may no longer be serving you, and develop practical strategies that support the changes you want to make.

I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, trauma-informed care, and relationship-focused approaches. I don’t believe therapy should feel one-size-fits-all, so I adapt my approach based on your needs, goals, experiences, and where you are in the change process.

I have a particular interest in working with adults navigating substance use and recovery, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, life transitions, stress, boundaries, family dynamics, and the pressures that can come with caring for everyone else while trying to care for yourself.

You can expect our sessions to include reflection, honest conversation, practical tools, encouragement, accountability, and room for humor when it fits. I’ll celebrate your progress with you, but I’ll also gently challenge you when I notice patterns that may be keeping you stuck. My goal is for therapy to be a place where you feel safe enough to be honest and supported enough to grow.

What you can expect from me

My goal is to create a therapeutic environment that feels safe, welcoming, supportive, and free of judgment. I want you to feel comfortable being honest about what is going well, what isn’t working, and even the things that may be difficult to say out loud. You don’t have to have everything figured out before coming to therapy—we can start exactly where you are.

Together, we will develop goals that are meaningful and realistic for your life. Depending on your needs, our work may focus on developing healthier coping strategies, improving communication and relationships, strengthening boundaries, navigating recovery, managing anxiety or stress, processing difficult experiences, increasing self-awareness, or becoming more confident in the decisions you make.

I want therapy to extend beyond the time we spend together in session. My hope is that you begin to recognize patterns, understand yourself more deeply, and develop tools you can use in your everyday life. Over time, I want you to feel more equipped to respond to challenges intentionally rather than simply reacting to them.

Ultimately, progress will look different for every person. We’ll regularly check in about what is working, what needs to change, and whether therapy is helping you move toward the life and relationships you want for yourself
