Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m LaTonia Simmons, LMHC. I hold master’s degrees in education and counseling and have over five years of experience supporting children, teens, adults, and families through anxiety, depression, trauma, relationships, life transitions, and personal growth. My approach is person-centered because I believe you are the expert on your own life. My role is to create a space where you feel safe enough to be honest, understood enough to explore what’s beneath the surface, and supported as you work toward the changes that matter most to you.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is person-centered, collaborative, and rooted in the belief that you are the expert on your own life. I meet clients where they are, creating a space where you can speak openly, feel heard, and explore your experiences without judgment. I draw from evidence-based approaches such as CBT, ACT, motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed care, tailoring each session to your needs rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach. I often work with teens and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, life transitions, emotional regulation, and personal growth. Together, we work to understand patterns, challenge what is no longer serving you, develop practical tools, and help you move forward with greater clarity and confidence.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is a chance to slow down, breathe, and begin telling your story in a space where you don’t have to have everything figured out. I’ll spend time getting to know you, understanding what brought you to therapy, and learning what you hope will be different through our work together. We’ll begin identifying goals that feel meaningful to you and explore what support may be most helpful. You can expect a collaborative, judgment-free conversation where you set the pace—we’ll build from there together.
