Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Dr. Latricia (Nikki) Edwards, DNP, PMHNP-BC, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner committed to helping adolescents and adults improve their overall mental and emotional well-being.

I work with individuals facing a wide range of mental health concerns — whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, emotionally stuck, navigating life transitions, struggling with focus or mood changes, or simply not feeling like yourself. Mental health challenges can show up in many different ways, and you don’t have to have everything figured out before seeking support.

My approach is collaborative, respectful, and individualized. I provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and supportive therapy using evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing. I believe in educating my clients about their treatment options, so they feel empowered and actively involved in their care.

In our sessions, you can expect a professional yet approachable environment where your concerns are taken seriously. My goal is not only symptom improvement but helping you function better in your daily life — mentally, emotionally, and practically.

Seeking help is a strong first step. I look forward to partnering with you on your journey toward stability, clarity, and lasting wellness.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, my primary goal is to get a thorough understanding of you — your concerns, your history, and what you hope to gain from treatment.

We will review your current symptoms, past mental health history, medical background, medications, and any significant life stressors. I will ask thoughtful questions to help clarify what may be contributing to your current challenges. This is also your opportunity to share what has — or hasn’t — worked for you in the past.

If appropriate, we may discuss potential diagnoses and treatment options, including whether medication, therapy, or a combination approach would be most beneficial. I will explain recommendations clearly so you feel informed and involved in every decision.

My approach is collaborative and respectful. You can expect a structured but supportive environment where your concerns are taken seriously. By the end of our first session, you will have a clearer understanding of next steps and a treatment plan tailored to your goals.
