Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Board-Approved Supervisor with over 18 years of experience in mental health and addiction treatment. My background includes serving as a clinical director in residential substance use treatment, leading behavioral health systems at a national level, and training future counselors at the graduate level. I am currently ABD in Counselor Education and Supervision, with research focused on addiction education and SAMHSA’s TAP 21 competencies.

In my practice, I specialize in working with adults and couples navigating relationship challenges, addiction and recovery, trauma, grief, life transitions, and identity development. I have extensive experience supporting clients impacted by substance use disorders, complex family systems, and generational patterns that affect emotional and relational health.

My approach is direct, warm, and insight-oriented. I help clients identify patterns, build emotional awareness, and develop practical tools for change. I integrate trauma-informed care, cognitive behavioral strategies, systems theory, and culturally responsive practices into our work together. Whether you are navigating relationship concerns, early recovery, burnout, or major life decisions, my goal is to provide a supportive, growth-focused space.

Therapy with me is collaborative and intentional. I believe in honest conversations, meaningful accountability, and helping you move from insight to action.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is structured, collaborative, and insight-driven. I help clients move beyond simply talking about problems and instead work toward meaningful, sustainable change. I believe therapy should feel both supportive and purposeful.

I primarily work from a trauma-informed, cognitive-behavioral, and systems-based lens. This means we explore how your thoughts, behaviors, family dynamics, attachment patterns, and lived experiences shape your current challenges. Together, we identify patterns, increase emotional awareness, and develop practical strategies that support growth and accountability.

I specialize in addiction and recovery, relationship concerns, grief, trauma, and life transitions. With extensive experience in behavioral health leadership and clinical supervision, I bring both real-world systems knowledge and deep clinical insight into the therapy space. For clients navigating substance use, I integrate motivational interviewing and evidence-based recovery frameworks. For couples and individuals in relational distress, I focus on communication, boundaries, and breaking generational cycles.

Cultural responsiveness is central to my work. I recognize how identity, race, family structure, faith, and systemic experiences influence mental health. Therapy with me creates space for those realities while still focusing on empowerment and forward movement.

Clients often describe my style as warm but direct. I will support you, but I will also challenge you when necessary. My goal is not just insight, but transformation.

What you can expect from me

Your first session with me is focused on clarity, comfort, and direction.

We will begin by discussing what brings you to therapy right now and what feels most urgent or important. I will ask thoughtful questions to better understand your history, patterns, relationships, and any previous therapy experiences. This is not an interrogation—it’s a structured conversation designed to help me see the full picture of your story.

You can expect a warm but direct environment. I create a space where honesty is welcomed, emotions are respected, and accountability is part of the process. My goal in the first session is for you to feel heard and understood, but also to begin identifying goals and possible next steps.

Before we end, we will collaborate on:

  • Clear therapy goals
  • What progress might look like
  • How we will measure change
  • Whether we are a good fit to continue working together

Many clients leave the first session feeling relieved, more grounded, and clearer about what needs to shift.

Therapy with me is intentional. From the beginning, we focus on insight and practical movement forward.
