Great to meet you!

I specialize in guiding individuals through the healing process of trauma while offering compassionate support for managing anxiety and depression. Together, we can uncover effective therapeutic techniques to help you process past traumatic experiences and cultivate a renewed sense of self-assurance, empowering you to navigate life’s challenges with resilience. Therapy is not only a path to healing but also a vital element of comprehensive self-care.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I am trained in Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, both of which are designed to empower clients to explore their own motivations for change and address the lasting effects of trauma. I am deeply invested in helping individuals reach their full potential, believing that everyone deserves to thrive in all aspects of life—emotionally, psychologically, and beyond. Mental health impacts every facet of our being, which is why I offer a range of therapeutic approaches tailored to individual needs. Through Telehealth appointments, I provide a flexible and comfortable space where clients can engage from the comfort of their own environment. My offerings include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, Person-Centered approaches, and Family/Marital Therapy, each aimed at fostering healing, growth, and connection.

What you can expect from our first session

I specialize in treating anxiety and depression. I enjoy being a source of empathy as well as being able to provide therapeutic strategies to build confidence and assist others with the ability to find the strength and willfulness within themselves to get through challenges. As a former nurse, I understand issues related to clients experiencing chronic illness. As someone who has worked in the child welfare division of social work, I also have experience with children, young adults, and older persons that have experienced profound abuse trauma. Being able to overcome obstacles and persevere is an aspect of this field that I’m grateful to be a part of.

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Client-Centered Therapy most often in my therapeutic approaches, however my main goal is to ensure that the session is productive and meets the clients needs. I am experienced in several modalities of therapy. I am a big fan of Carl Rogers’ work in humanistic psychology. “People are just as wonderful as sunsets if you let them be. When I look at a sunset, I don’t find myself saying, ‘Soften the orange a bit on the right-hand corner.’ I don’t try to control a sunset. I watch with awe as it unfolds.” Carl Rogers
