Great to meet you!

I was born in Italy and graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome. After having worked as an artist for a decade in New York, I became interested in art therapy. I have been a psychotherapist now for over twenty years. Initially trained at NYU, I obtained additional trining at ICP, a psychoanalytic institute in NYC. Anxiety, depression, relational difficulties, and professional concerns are the most common issues I address with my patients. My personal history, in addition to my training, also allows me to work well with individuals who feel they need to address cultural issues, either personal or familiar/environmental, as well as adjustment and life transitions.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I utilize talk therapy to help you explore perceptions, feelings and thoughts, and understand how they effect your sense of self and your behavior. I am also experienced in mindfulness, breath work, and art therapy, and happy to share these techniques with you, if you wish to try. Therapy is a collaborative space in which to discuss what may be best for you.

What you can expect from our first session

In my practice therapy is a collaboration. Together we explore your unique blend of culture, identity and experience to identify the ways in which emotions, thoughts and behaviors foster or hinder your wellbeing. I take an active role and at the same time I am attuned to your individual needs and the specific moment in the session. In therapy you practice communication and self reflection. With my support you develop the skills that allow you to understand your feelings and transform them into intentional behavior. Together we work to identify your needs and wants to meet with less effort the demands of everyday life and find your purpose.
